AZ Governor 42% Goddard 55% Brewer
AZ US Senate 35% 59% McCain
* includes 2 independents who caucus with Democrats
For Arizona, initial election results show that Jan Brewer (Republican) will likely be re-elected as governor. Brewer beat Terry Goddard (Democrat candidate) with 56% of votes from 13% of the precincts reporting. Earlier this year, Brewer garnered approval from voters after signing a tough immigration law.
2008 Presidential nominee John McCain (Republican) will likely serve his fifth term in the Senate with 59% percent of votes from 23% of the precincts reporting. He beat Rodney Glassman (Democrat), a former Tucson city councilman.
